BNSF to Develop Rail Logistics Hub in Arizona
BNSF, an American railway company, is developing a 4,321-acre rail facility and logistics hub in Phoenix, Arizona. Located in Maricopa County, the hub will consist of a 1,770-acre intermodal facility, a 1,420-acre logistics park, and an 1,131-acre logistics center.
BNSF expects the hub to support rail transport and reduce emissions by shortening road transport distances. Jon Gabriel, BNSF's Vice President of Service Design, emphasized the need for additional rail capacity in the Phoenix area, calling it a long-term investment.
This investment is likely to position Arizona as a major center for logistics and transportation. The expansion of the rail network will strengthen its role as an environmentally friendly mode of transport. It will also have a positive impact on the local economy.
